The Villa Cipressi is a classic Lake Como wedding venue, and we regularly visit to capture photographs of couples who choose it for their big day. One of the oldest of all of Lake Como’s villas, it dates back to the 1400s, although much of the sublime decoration and architecture was added in the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Once threatened with destruction, the villa is now owned by the people of Varenna and managed by a luxury hotels group, and offers everything couples need to organise an unforgettable wedding.
The site offers a huge variety of photo opportunities for a Villa Cipressi wedding photographer, which is one reason why it works so well as a wedding venue. For example, there are “botanical paths” which include skillfully maintained flowers and trees, stone staircases and patios looking over the lake. The hotel itself directly overlooks the lake, with terraces descending to the water, allowing guests to access boats and take some dazzling images.
The hotel is well set up to meet the needs of couples. There are banqueting rooms with a capacity of 130 people, wedding planners can create enchanting flower arrangements to complement the 18th century interior and there are numerous luxury services such as jacuzzis to enjoy.
Another thing which makes the Villa Cipressi so magical is the way couples can travel from villages like Bellagio to Varenna by boat. We have worked on weddings in the past where couples have started from hotels in Bellagio and then cruised over to the Villa Cipressi for the ceremony and photographs, before wandering romantically through the nearby village. So you don’t need to stick to one hotel or locality. We can be flexible when taking your wedding photographs in Lake Como. Just ask and we will accommodate your schedule.
